Hiro is moving to message date attribution

To align our revenue attribution with Klaviyo, we are moving from order date attribution to message date attribution [ACTION REQUIRED]

Updated over 2 weeks ago

What's the difference?

With Hiro's original attribution model, the platform attributes an order to the date the order occurred (order date attribution). This is different than how Klaviyo attributes revenue. Klaviyo uses message date attribution, meaning they will attribute an order back to the date the attributed message was received.

For clients connected to Klaviyo prior to June 9th, 2025, Hiro will report using the Original Hiro Attribution Model (i.e. order-date attribution), and attributed revenue figures will not match Klaviyo's figures. Clients connected after June 9th, 2025 will be automatically opt-ed into the new message-date attribution by default.

Follow the steps below to migrate your clients added prior to June 9th, 2025 to the new attribution model so your Hiro reporting matches Klaviyo in-platform reporting.

[ACTION REQUIRED]

Migrating your clients to the new attribution model

  1. For all clients added before June 9th, 2025, visit the Client Settings page for each client and copy over the attribution settings from the Klaviyo attribution page.

Be sure to copy over the exact settings from Klaviyo, including the checkboxes below the attribution window settings. If these settings are misaligned, reported revenue in Hiro will not align with Klaviyo.

2. Click Save Attribution Settings to initiate the migration.

3. Once your Klaviyo attribution settings are saved, you will see a blue status indicating that your update is currently running. The migration could take up to 72 hours to fully complete. You will receive an email notification when the migration is complete.

Migration FAQs

  • Do I need to update attribution settings if I'm not using Klaviyo?
No, for those using Attentive or Yotpo for Email, no action is required.

  • If I'm using Klaviyo for Email but another platform for SMS, do I need to migrate?
Yes, you will still need to update your attribution settings for Klaviyo. Note that you will want to enter the SMS attribution settings from Klaviyo even if you're not using Klaviyo for SMS but these settings will not apply to your SMS platform. For example, if your SMS attribution settings in Klaviyo are 5-day click, we will not use those settings for your Attentive SMS attribution. Hiro will still use the default Attentive and Yotpo SMS attribution settings from those respective platforms.

  • What if I've already entered my attribution settings for a historical update in the past? You do not need to enter your attribution settings again if you have entered them in the past (unless they have since changed). We have automatically migrated clients who had attribution settings entered in the past.

  • Can I opt-out of this migration? No, all accounts must be migrated before October 1st, 2025.

  • What if I use default order filters? Your default order filters will not be affected and will still be applied moving forward with the new attribution model.
