How to Use the New Flow Deep Dive Page in Hiro

The Flow Deep Dive page has been redesigned to make it easier to analyze flow performance across email and SMS.

Updated over 4 months ago

What’s new in this update?

  • Replaced stat-heavy headers with a cleaner table-based view

  • Unified flow-level and message-level insights

  • Added custom tag grouping directly in Hiro

  • Made it easier to chart any metric

  • Simplified drill-down navigation (from overall flows → single flow → individual message)

What does the Flows Overview tab show?

This is your starting point for analyzing all flow performance in one table.

You can:

  • View performance for all flows during a selected time period

  • Use Show Comparison to compare current vs. previous periods

  • Choose how to chart data over time (by day, week, month, or year)

  • Filter metrics (e.g., remove SMS if not used)

All selected metrics will show up:

  • In the summary stat area

  • Within the breakdown table of individual flows

How do I filter to specific flows?

  1. Select the flows you're interested in (e.g., all abandonment flows)

  2. The header will update to reflect only selected flows

  3. You'll see a stacked bar chart for these flows

  4. Use the chart selector to switch between metrics (e.g., deliveries, email revenue, clicks)

How do I drill into a single flow?

Click on a flow from the overview to open the Single Flow Deep Dive tab.

Here you can:

  • Add or remove metrics (e.g., unsubscribes, revenue per recipient)

  • Chart individual flow metrics over time

  • See a breakdown of each message in that flow

  • Click into any message for even deeper insights

What does the Message Detail view show?

When you click a specific message, you’ll see:

  • Message-level metrics (e.g., deliveries, open rates, click-through, unsubscribes)

  • Trends over time for any metric

  • The actual email creative

  • A way to visually inspect underperformance (e.g., “Click rate is down — what changed?”)

What is the Flow Tag tab for?

This new tab lets you create and apply custom tags directly in Hiro, rather than relying on Klaviyo’s built-in tags.

You can:

  • Set custom flow categories (e.g., Welcome, Abandonment, Winback, Post-Purchase)

  • Group flows into custom segments

  • Save and refresh your tag groupings

Once flows are tagged:

  • View aggregated performance metrics by tag (e.g., total clicks for all "Post-Purchase" flows)

  • Add any metric to see it per tag group

  • See tag-specific breakdowns in the flows table

⚠️ If your tags don’t appear right away, refresh the page — there’s a known issue we’re working on fixing.

Can I chart by any metric?

Yes. Any metric you select in the header (e.g., email opens, unsubscribes) can be charted over time for:

  • All flows

  • Selected flows

  • A single flow

  • A single message

Just click the chart icon next to the metric to switch views.

Why is this better?

  • Cleaner layout: Focused on actionable insights

  • Faster tagging: Skip Klaviyo’s tagging friction

  • Deeper drill-downs: Go from macro to micro with just a click

  • Custom flexibility: Use metrics and segments that matter to you
