How to Use the Flow Deep Dive

Understanding your Flows just got easier.

The Flow Deep Dive page makes it easy to analyze flow performance across email and SMS in one place. It gives you everything you need to understand how flows are performing, pinpoint opportunities for improvement, and drill down from high-level insights to individual message details.

What You Can Do with the Flow Deep Dive

  • Analyze all flows at once: See performance across all flows or filter to specific flows you care about.

  • Drill into single flows and messages: Move seamlessly from overall performance → single flow → individual messages for deeper analysis.

  • Tag and group flows: Create and apply custom tags to group flows into categories like Welcome, Abandonment, or Post-Purchase.

  • Chart any metric over time: Click the chart icon to visualize performance trends for any metric you select.

This flexibility makes it easy to move from big-picture metrics to granular message-level insights with just a few clicks.


Flows Overview

The Flows Overview tab gives you a bird’s-eye view of performance for all flows combined or selected flows over a specific period.

  • Filter by flow: Start with all flows, then narrow down to just the ones you want to analyze.

  • Customize metrics: Select the KPIs you want to track — such as open rate, click rate, or revenue per recipient — and they’ll appear in both the Statistics section and the Flow Breakdown table.

  • Drill down with one click: Select a specific flow to jump straight into the Single Flow Deep Dive tab for message-level insights.


Single Flow Deep Dive

When you want to focus on one flow, this tab gives you message-by-message performance data so you can quickly identify what’s working and what’s not.

  • Filter by timeframe: View results by month, week, or day to isolate when performance changes occurred.

  • Spot problem areas: See exactly which email or SMS step caused a drop in revenue or engagement.

  • Review creative side-by-side: Each message includes a pinned preview so you can compare performance metrics against the actual creative content.

Flow Tag Comparison

Need to analyze flows by category or purpose instead of individually?

The Flow Tag tab allows you to:

  • Create and assign tags for groups of flows directly in the tool (no need to jump into Klaviyo).

  • Filter performance by tags to compare similar types of flows (e.g., “Welcome,” “Post-Purchase,” or “Loyalty”).

  • See at a glance which category drives the most revenue or engagement to guide you on what category to optimize next.


How the Tabs Work Together

  1. Start with Flows Overview for the big picture.

  2. Drill into Single Flow Deep Dive for message-level insights.

  3. Use Flow Tag Comparison to analyze performance by category.

Together, these views help you move from broad metrics → granular analysis → strategic action so you can continually improve your retention marketing performance.
