Using the Custom Dashboard
Accessing the Custom Dashboard
Go to Reporting in the navigation.
Select Custom Dashboard.
A default dashboard template will be pre-loaded. If you do not see one:
Click the ⋮ (three-dot menu) in the top right corner.
Select Import Template and choose the first Dashboard Template to use as your base.
Understanding the Layout
The dashboard is built using sections, and each section contains cards. The card layout determines how content is arranged on the page.
When you click Add Section, you’ll be able to choose from:
One-column layout
Two-column layout
Three-column layout
Cards within these sections contain the content your client will see.
Editing and Adding Components
Inside each card, click Edit to open the customization panel. You can add the following component types:
Component Type | Best For |
Statistics | High-level metrics and KPIs |
Charts | Trendlines and visual comparisons |
Tables | Detailed performance breakdowns |
To add a component:
Click Add Component
Choose a component type (Statistic, Chart, or Table)
Select the metrics you want to display
You can browse by category or use the search bar to find specific metrics.
Once configured, click Save Component, then Save Block to apply the changes to the dashboard.
Managing Sections
You can customize the dashboard layout by:
Moving a section up or down using the arrow controls
Duplicating a section to reuse formatting and structure
Deleting a section if it’s no longer needed
Saving and Reusing Templates
Once you finalize the structure and content:
Click the ⋮ (three-dot menu).
Select Save New Template.
Name your template.
Your saved template will now appear under Import Template and can be reused across other client dashboards.
Previewing the Client View
Use the Preview toggle (top right) to see what your client will experience.
In preview mode:
Only the finished dashboard displays (no editing UI)
Clients will be able to adjust date ranges
Only this one page is visible if they are granted dashboard-only access
Previewing ensures the dashboard is client-ready before sharing.
Sharing With Clients
To invite a client, follow this guide here:
Go to Account → Manage Users & Billing
Select the Client Access tab
Click Invite Client
Enter their email and select the appropriate dashboard
There are two permission levels:
Access Type | What They Can See |
Dashboard-Only Access (leave checkbox unselected) | Only the Custom Dashboard you created |
Full Hiro Access (checkbox selected) | Full access to all Hiro dashboards for that client |
After sending the invitation, the client will appear in your list with the status Invited until they accept. You can modify access at any time.
